For step-by-step instructions on adding, spending, and withdrawing funds, see the Wallet Guide.

What is the Audius Wallet?

Audius provides users the ability to create or connect a crypto wallet (referred to as the $AUDIO Token Wallet) to interact with digital assets like $AUDIO and USDC. This wallet enables on-platform transactions and token management, but is fully self-custodied and not controlled by Audius or Tiki Labs. Learn more about how the wallet works here.

Who controls my wallet and funds?

You do. The $AUDIO Token Wallet is self-custodied meaning:

  • Only you have access to your wallet credentials.
  • Audius/Tiki Labs cannot access, reset, or recover your wallet or its contents.
  • You are solely responsible for your wallet's security and the assets within it.

What is an external wallet?

An external wallet is a self-custodied crypto wallet that you manage independently, outside of the Audius platform. Unlike the built-in $AUDIO Token Wallet, which is tied to your Audius account credentials, an external wallet gives you full control over your private keys.

External wallets are especially recommended for users holding larger amounts of $AUDIO because:

  • Your funds are secured entirely by you and are not linked to any login or email.
  • They are not affected by account-level risks like a compromised password or lost email access.
  • If you ever stop using Audius, your funds remain fully accessible and portable.

How do external wallet connections work on Audius?

Audius supports connecting external Solana wallets, allowing you to link an existing wallet to your account without transferring control of your funds to the platform. Phantom is the recommended option for $AUDIO holders. $AUDIO is a Solana-based token, and Phantom is purpose-built for the Solana ecosystem, offering a clean mobile and browser extension experience, built-in token swapping, and strong security features.

When you connect an external wallet:

  • Audius can read your $AUDIO balance and include it in your total balance on the platform.
  • Linked wallet balances count toward the VIP badge displayed on your profile.
  • Audius never holds your private keys. Any transaction from your external wallet must be approved and signed by you in your own wallet app.
  • You can link up to 5 external wallets to your account.

To connect a wallet:

  1. On the web, open the Wallet page from the navigation menu, scroll to Linked Wallets, and click Add. In the mobile app, go to the $AUDIO & Rewards screen and tap External Wallets.
  2. Select your preferred wallet provider.
  3. Approve the connection directly within your wallet app.

Is Audius a wallet custodian or service provider?

No. Audius does not custody wallets, assets, or private keys. Wallets created or connected to Audius (e.g., via Phantom, WalletConnect, or others) are user-controlled and operate independently of Audius.

How is my wallet secured on Audius?

Your wallet is protected by:

  • A secure password that you create during wallet setup.
  • Email-based two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect wallet access.

⚠️ Important: Your wallet security is only as strong as the password you choose. Use a unique, complex password and store it securely. If you lose access to your wallet and email, Audius cannot recover your funds.

Can I swap tokens within Audius?

Yes. Audius integrates token swapping via Jupiter, a third-party aggregator on the Solana blockchain.

Please note:

  • The swap functionality is powered by Jupiter's SDK.
  • All swap activity is performed at your own risk.
  • Audius/Tiki Labs does not control, execute, or guarantee swap transactions.

Where does token price data come from?

Price data shown during swaps and in-wallet balances is sourced from Jupiter and:

  • May be inaccurate, delayed, or subject to market volatility.
  • Should not be considered as financial advice or relied on for investment decisions.

Can the value of tokens in my wallet change?

Yes. Digital assets such as $AUDIO and USDC are subject to market fluctuation. Their value:

  • May increase or decrease at any time.
  • Could become volatile or illiquid depending on market conditions.

By using your wallet, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Are wallet transactions reversible?

No. Blockchain transactions, including swaps and transfers, are:

  • Irreversible once submitted.
  • Finalized by the network and cannot be cancelled or refunded by Audius.

Always double-check recipient addresses and transaction details before confirming any transfer.

What if I send tokens to the wrong address or blockchain?

Audius cannot retrieve lost funds due to:

  • Mistyped addresses,
  • Sending to unsupported wallets,
  • Using the wrong blockchain network.

Such transactions are permanent and your responsibility as the wallet owner.

Can Audius help recover lost wallet access or funds?

No. Audius does not store wallet credentials and cannot help recover:

  • Lost passwords,
  • Forgotten email access,
  • Assets sent in error.

We strongly recommend using a password manager and enabling all available account protections.

What are the risks of using third-party integrations like Jupiter?

While Jupiter is integrated into Audius for user convenience:

  • It is a third-party platform with its own risks and limitations.
  • Audius does not audit or control Jupiter or its liquidity sources.

You assume all risk when using Jupiter, including failed or unfavorable swaps.

How can I protect myself when using my wallet?

To stay safe:

  • Use a strong, unique password that you do not reuse elsewhere.
  • Store your password securely using a trusted password manager.
  • Ensure email 2FA is enabled and active.
  • Never share your login information or sign into unfamiliar links.

Who do I contact for support?

Because wallets are user-controlled:

  • Audius cannot provide wallet recovery or swap support.
  • For issues with externally connected wallet functionality, contact your wallet provider (e.g., Phantom).
  • For swap issues, refer to Jupiter's support and documentation.
